Dr Bert Popping is Chief Executive Officer of the strategic food consulting company FOCOS and a founding partner at the regulatory and compliance company FOOD-ORBIT. He has extensive expertise in food safety, food allergens, and risk management, and served as an expert on the FAO/WHO ad hoc group for the risk assessment of food allergens. He is the co-editor of Present Knowledge in Food Safety: A Risk-Based Approach Through the Food Chain, a leading reference work in the field. Dr Popping has authored over 75 peer-reviewed publications on food safety, food allergens, authenticity and regulatory science. He serves on several national and international committees in various functions related to strategy and science. In addition to his scientific contributions, he advises food manufacturers, government agencies, laboratories and start-ups around the world on strategic food safety solutions, emerging technologies and regulatory compliance, helping to bridge the gap between science, policy, and industry practice.
