Dr Vishweshwaraiah PRAKASH

Dr. Vishweshwaraiah Prakash had all his degrees from the University of Mysore, Mysore, India. Dr Prakash is a Globally well-known Protein Chemist and a leading Food and Nutrition Scientist. His association with CFTRI is from 1970 and headed the CFTRI and Distinguished Sci. of CSIR India. This year is his 54th Year of his Service to Humanity in the field of Food Safety, Food Science, Food Technology and Nutraceuticals and Traditional Foods and Role of Spices in Health and plant proteins for Nutrition. He has established excellent connectivity both with Industries and Academia Nationally and Globally with his leadership in advanced food and nutrition policies as Hon. President of IUFoST (Food Science and Technology) (30 years with IUFoST) and Hon. Vice President of IUNS (Nutrition) (12 years with IUNS). He has served as Board member of ILSI INDIA since its inception for 24 years.

Dr Prakash is decorated with the coveted highest award for science in India, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award for Science and Technology, 65 outstanding awards globally, and more than 15 Lifetime Achievement Awards from various organizations in India and Abroad. He is a fellow of most of the Academies in India and the Royal Society of Chemistry UK, IUFoST Canada, and IFT USA. He has 219 plus research publications,25 books,55 patents and 987 addresses as Chief Guest, keynote and inaugural. To top it all he is decorated by the President of India with the PADMASHREE AWARD from Govt. of India one of the highest Civilian Award for his Contribution to Science and Technology to Nation Building.
