
Dr. John Donaghy
Current Role is Global Head of Food Safety, Nestlé. Holds Responsibility for Food Safety in Global Operations, covering approx. 350 manufacturing sites, across multiple Food Categories, including Dairy, Infant Nutrition, Confectionary, Ice Cream, Culinary, Coffee/beverage and Petfood. The role includes technical expertise in food safety microbiology, industrial hygiene, allergen management, chemical and packaging food safety programs. Leads a Global team of SMEs, overseeing implementation of key Nestlé Food Safety and Quality standards. Has responsibility for team of senior food safety assessors, responsible for global food safety audit function.
Previously worked as Head of Microbiology & Allergen Management in Nestlé Corporate Quality. He joined Nestlé (R&D) as Senior Food Safety Microbiologist (2011), where he held responsibilities for food safety microbiological risk assessment projects and food microbiology analytical sciences.
Prior to joining Nestlé, worked as Project Leader in food safety microbiology at Agri-Food & Biosciences Institute (AFBI), N. Ireland, on food safety projects funded by National Government, Food Industry and European Union. Previously, held position of Head of Government Scientific Services Microbiology analytical Laboratory (N. Ireland).
