
Chomdao Sinthuvanich
Chomdao Sinthuvanich obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Chulalongkorn University. In 2006, she joined Professor Joel Schneider’s laboratory at the University of Delaware, where she conducted research in peptide-based biomaterials. In 2009, she continued her research as a Visiting Fellow at the Chemical Biology Laboratory, National Cancer Institute, Center for Cancer Research (NIH). She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in 2012 from the University of Delaware. Dr. Sinthuvanich is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, Kasetsart University. She is currently a head of Special Research Incubator Unit : Allergen research for food safety and precision diagnosis of allergic diseases. Her research interests involve the study of protein allergens and their cross-reactivity in food. She focuses on the effect of food processing on protein allergens from crustaceans, mollusks, edible insects, and fish. She also has experience working with protein allergens from chicken, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, soybeans, fruits, and vegetables to develop test kits for allergen contamination and more accurate allergy diagnosis.
